This year, investors have navigated their way through a 34% loss in the broad-based S&P 500 in less than five weeks, as well as a greater than 80% bounce in the technology-dependent Nasdaq Composite since the March 23 bear market bottom.
The world’s largest cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, has effectively tripled since the year began, which is a roughly 185-percentage-point outperformance of the benchmark S&P 500.
Bitcoin also accounts for close to two-thirds of the more than $600 billion in aggregate market value of every cryptocurrency in existence.
